Traditional tree medicine- also known as Balm of Gilead. We use the early spring buds of balsam poplar when they’re covered in sticky, aromatic resin. We gently infuse the buds in organic sunflower oil, strain, melt in beeswax and pour into a tin for you to use. Bees also use poplar bud resin to make propolis which they use to disinfect the hive. We can use it for it’s antibacterial and antiviral properties just like the bees!
